Code of Ethics

Kerry Sea Designs embraces Fair Trade principles and is strongly committed to providing ethically manufactured products.

Each authentic artwork featured on Kerry Sea Products is created in Mackay, Queensland and relates directly to creatures found on our Great Barrier Reef. Kerry Sea aims to promote Australia’s World Heritage Area globally.

Kerry Sea Designs is a member of the Australian Made Campaign (Licence ID 4275). Production in Australia adheres to guidelines given in the Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Associated Industries award 2010. Products found in Australian Resort outlets and on the Kerry Sea Website carry the ‘Australian Made’ tag.

Due to International expansion, in 2018, manufacture will include some items made overseas. Kerry has visited suppliers to help ensure ethical standards are met. Kerry Sea’s commercial arrangements with overseas suppliers are governed by agreements embracing the Fair Wear Code of Labour Practices, the core of which is made up from 8 labour standards derived from ILO Conventions and the UN’s Declaration on Human Rights: Reasonable hours of Work, Safe and Healthy working Conditions, Legally Binding Employment Relationship, Payment of a Living Wage, Freedom of Association and the Right to Collective Bargaining, No Exploitation of Child Labour and There is No Discrimination In Employment.

Right from the start, supporting Reef Research has been a part of our business plan.

‘Kerry Sea Designs aims to support organisations working to protect and educate people about a jewel in Australia’s crown, the Great Barrier Reef.’ The GBR is listed under all four natural World Heritage criteria for its outstanding universal value. It stretches 2,300 kilometres along the Queensland coast and includes over 2,900 reefs, and around 940 islands and cays. In Kerry’s eyes it is priceless. ‘The Reefs are as important to the ocean as rainforests are to the Earth’.

Kerry Sea donates both to the Lizard Island Research station and also the WWF.

In June 2018, Kerry Sea Designs became a ‘Shop for the Reef’ partner with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. 20% of all sales directed from the GBRF website are donated to the Foundation to support the fabulous work they do to preserve the Reef and combat the effects of Climate Change.
